I know only ladies who like several more popular doom metal bands like MDB, Sabbath ( if you count them as doom), and Candlemass, but I have never known a female who likes for example Electric Wizard

New member Candy wants to make a women in doom thread, hope she does it.

There isn't many girls into doom but there is still not many female metal heads period but I do think doom metal is one of the most likely metal genres that a female would like. It is slow, melodic a lot of time and carries a lot of emotion. Strange then that a lot of young girls especially, go for the satanic black metal stuff. I question sometimes if they really like the music, or just love the image.

I always think girls have been pre-programmed or brainwashed at a early age to think and act a certain way. Most like poppy music with sappy ballads being at the top of their list and they love romantic movies and books. I am 100% the opposite, I can stand any of it. Makes me want to puked to be honest.

My name is Samantha, I was born and raised in the UK. I am a friend of Ed's and Sally's. I met Ed first back in the 80's when we both were living in Australia at the time. We lost contact for many years and then just 7 years ago, I moved to Seattle from the UK. I was working in a bar in North Seattle when in walks Ed, couldn't believe it, it is a small world after all. I have worked as a bartender most of my working life and do the odd modelling job, yes another one lol.

I am not really a doom metal fan, better say that now but I am a huge Sabbath fan as well as bands like Solitude Aeturnus and Candlemass but I mainly listen to classic metal and heavy rock. My parents were both big hard rock/metal fans and my father actually worked at a club where Iron Maiden played sometimes 3, sometimes 4 nights a week back in late 78 to 80/early 81. He used to take me there and I would have to sit backstage and listen to the bands because I was underage and wasn't allowed to be in there. Even before that my parents would drag me along to concerts to see Sabbath, Zeppelin, Purple, Rainbow and Thin Lizzy to name a few so I got metal injected into my veins from a young age and I have never looked back.

If you were to ask me what kind of metal fan I am, I would say, anything slow, melodic and the more flash the better so the extreme doom metal isn't really my thing. People mistake me for a glam rock chick because I still dress like one but I hated the hair bands of the 80's so go figure. Ed and Sally told me about the classic rock section so that will be my place to be. Hope you can accept me here, this looks like fun.

My real name is Angelica or Angel for short but that sounds too sweet so I use the username Immortella. I started out as a pure black metal devotee but switched to the ways of doom metal about 10 years ago. I would like say thanks to Doom Vixen for sending me a invite to register here. I hope I can add something to the forum.

Sorry for making all those posts and not doing this first. I didn't see it till it was too late and I had to go out. My name is Kate and I am a part time adult actress, stripper, internet model and a friend of Sally Doomvixen. She invited me here so here I am. I listened to black metal for years, ever since I was 11 years old but a few years ago discovered some death-doom bands and I got hooked on doom metal, especially black-doom and funeral doom bands. Oddly enough though, my favorite 2 doom bands are Electric Wizard and Saint Vitus but apart from them, I don't really listen to that more stonerish doom style much at all. I am not into self-promotion so I won't be flaunting myself on here, I know that is against the rules and I respect that but yes, I do porn and I am proud of it.

I don't have much else to say really, I am single, very busy all the time and apart from my work and music, I don't have much time for anything but I plan on checking in here at least once a week. I have been a member of dozens of metal forums over the years and usually either get kicked out or I just leave because I always get into arguments. I am very opinionated when it comes to music so watch out. I just say it as I see it so I might piss some of you off but I don't mean no harm at all.
