They still do the math and so on but other topics like history and the arts is so stuck in another generation that it almost seems they want to brainwash kids into thinking it is still 1950. The things that should be taught to kids like drug education, anti - racism and sexism is hardly there at all so kids are still dumb-asses when it comes to those things. And of course music is virtually no existent in most schools these days. It is all about pre-programming a race of mindless robots and they are doing a pretty good job at it too. |
Talking about topics like drugs and sex to our young people is against this nations christian and evangelical sensibilities (just look at the rash of suicides in Wisconsin awhile ago). The power structure in america does not want a whole generation of intelligent young people who are socially aware and capable of working together. No, no, no instead they want a flock of ignorant sheep who have buttons that can be manipulated with simple ideas (like family values, the protestant work ethic, and the fact that homosexuals, drug users and many artisits are satanic communists ~ or terrorists to keep with the times). As long as people keep working their lives away for the good of the top 1% and can be manipulated by the capitalistic and christian fundamentalism in this country we will continue to slide into the shitter. |

If we get enough people we could probably get the mountain range renamed to 'The Mountains ov Doom' or something equally as neat. With enough solar panels we could still blast out stereos and what not (I have issues living without a microwave!)
What do you say? |
That summed it up perfectly, couldn't have said it better. I did live isolated in the mountains for a while and I love it. The only thing that sucked was getting down the mountain to buy food. And yes, the country is producing a race of non-thinkers. We often have talked about kids don't know music these days but that is just the tip of the iceberg. They are pretty much clueless about almost everything else as well._________________ http://www.doommantia.com |

I'd be all about it as long as there was still electricity for music (solar panels or what not). Beats the hell out of what i waste my time with now. |

Acoustic instruments are a must. My brother and I use to sit out in the woods with two acoustic guitars (and sometimes a harmonica) and make up the most ridiculous shit. Good times. |

| Not really angry per se, but I'm really saddened to hear the news about Sabbath canceling (most of) thier tour. From what I heard they're only playing Download festival in the UK. I will no doubt be unable to get get there, so I can forget about seeing them this summer. I know a lot of people weren't going to see them without Ward anyway, and while I'm unhappy about that and the way they've been treating him, I was still looking forward to see them at Graspop here in Belgium. Oh well.. If this is about Iommi's health I completely understand, it just sucks that I will probably never finally see Sabbath in my lifetime. |

Been much longer than that for me. I can't afford to buy booze anyway and when I do, I can't find anyone to drink with and I hate drinking alone. |

| Deluxe editions and the music industry's failure to adapt to a changing market has got me pissed off. The combination of the Thin Lizzy poll and a weekend in a cabin with friends drinking, snowshoeing, and blasting Thin Lizzy for three nights straight has inspired me to delve deeper into Thin Lizzy's discography.
The local record shop only has deluxe editions of their albums for $30! Fine, I think, unfortunately I'll just have to get them off of Amazon rather than support local businesses. Pretty much a no-go. Most of the albums are only offered in the deluxe format and are at least $23. Bullshit. I can remember the days when classic albums usually went $9.
Just another contributing factor of online piracy. |

I usually buy the originals via Ebay or a second hand copy from Amazon. These deluxe editions are not worth the money usually. Box sets are even worse, I was reading about Lemmy telling people NOT to buy the Motorhead box that has just been released. Some stores want $500 for it, it is just a joke.
By the way, I am old enough to remember when albums were $1.99 each lol... _________________ I've got a 12 ton demon on my back Whispering shit in my brain

| I am the same Jack. $1.99 for a single album and $2.99 for a double and you usually got all the lyrics, the gatefold sleeve and even a poster sometimes. Damn have times changed. I can remember buying second hand albums in mint condition for 99 cents. In fact I still have some of those albums from my childhood with the price sticker still attached. PS: I read that Lemmy thing too, he is right. Damn record company owns all their early recordings so they have no say in what is released and how much they charge. I have seen that box set in Seattle, they want $400 for it there. It is 14 CD's, all the early albums, singles up to 1984. That is close to $30 a CD - WTF. _________________ http://www.doommantia.com |

I personally plan to pull a Hemingway when i become a septuagenarian, which is when people tend to become senile. If i can't function (see, hear, move, think, fuck, etc.) i do not see a whole lot of point in living. |

That makes me think of the movie, Little Miss Sunshine, where the grandfather character says if you do drugs when your young and able you are a fool...if you don't do drugs when you reach my age again you are a fool. |

| I don't know if anyone else takes Neo-Citran when they have a cold, but my mom just gave me a homemade Neo-Citran substitute that I didn't think would work, but actually works like a charm! Just heat up some water, add a teaspoon of honey and a good squirt of lemon juice... doesn't sound like it would work but it really does! I just poted this here because I was bitching about getting sick... _________________ More agonised than any scream, more furious than any warcry. Awfully, sickeningly wrong. Chuckling at a massacre. My mom used to do pretty much the same thing with sugar and lemon juice. I was never really sure if it acctually worked, or if it was just the placebo effect, I make it every time I'm sick without fail. _________________ If I told myself again that I'm one of a kind, Would I have myself to blame if I was told a lie?

The package just arrived, 2 business days to travel less than 50 miles, pathetic. And yeah headaches are a bitch. I have suffered with migraines my whole life which for someone who loves to listen to music daily is a problem. Never found meds that work all the time, some will work sometimes but usually I just have to ride it out. The worst headache I ever had lasted 3 months, it was 3 of the worst months of my life. The doctor was actually thinking about surgery to fix it but I woke up one morning and it was gone. Now they last a day or two at the most but I get at least one a week._________________ http://www.doommantia.com |

Been there before. I hate that kind of shit. It never fails to happen either.
I'm currently pissed off because I've got another headache that just doesn't want to go away, even at the insistence of my excedrin. Also, I ate all my food and I'm still hungry. |
Now they last a day or two at the most but I get at least one a week. |
That would be terrible, i couldn't imagine getting a wicked headache once a week yet alone having one last 3 months. |

I know a woman who had a headache for 2 years and ended having to have surgery to fix it. The worst thing about those 3 months though was the amount of days missed at work, I lost so much money in that time and couldn't pay any bills._________________ http://www.doommantia.com |

I knew a guy years ago that had to quit a band due to headaches, they got so bad, it was impossible to him to listen to music, let alone play it. It must be really horrible. _________________ I've got a 12 ton demon on my back Whispering shit in my brain

| So today i get a letter from the Michigan Tax Bureau stating that they are going to give me a 25% of the refund i qualified for because my household income was less than my personal living expenses for the year...WTF. So basically, if i understand this correctly, i'm too poor to receive my maximum refund. It makes no fucking sense at all. |
