| I didn't see this topic anywhere in the forum and this seems like the right subforum for it. What's everyone currently reading? |

| Between reading school textbooks I'm trying to slog my through George R. R. Martin's "A Dance with Dragons". I've been following the Song of Ice and Fire series since the second book and pretty much re-read the series whenever a new book is published. This new one is somewhat of a letdown and the story seems to have gotten away from Martin a bit. Supposedly he has an end in mind, so hopefully he can pull all of threads together in two more books. The dude isn't very prolific so it could be awhile, but if he truly has an end in mind maybe it'll be a bit quicker than the writing of previous books. |

I finished that one a while ago. I liked it, I'm still interested in everything that's happening, so no complaints from me. Currently I'm reading The Name of the Wind and have hit a huge wall near the end where I'm having a hard time staying interested enough to just push on through...
After I do finish though I have two books to pick from: The Blade Itself and A Deepness in the Sky. |

Yeah, I'm still interested in the story and invested in the characters, it's just not the page-turner that the first three books were.
I haven't read The Name of the Wind, but I've heard a lot of good things and a few people have recommended it to me.

Yes it is. His battle with Cocaine addiction was extreme so there are some interesting stories there. If you are a fan, you probably know 99% of it already but it is still a good read. This might seem weird but I think Purple was the band that suited Hughes the least. I love Purple but Hughes to me sounds much better in Trapeze and in his solo work than with Purple._________________ http://www.doommantia.com |

Nice, I'm a pretty big Camus fan. His short story collection "Exile and the Kingdom" does a nice job of boiling down the existential viewpoint and definitely showcases the absurd. I also really liked "The Stranger". |

The Stranger was excellent, i've heard Exile and the Kingdom is good from a philosophical point but not a good sample of Camus' nonfiction work in general. |

It'll have to go on the 'list'. And the 'list' is already pretty long, and definately longer than my wallet. _________________ More agonised than any scream, more furious than any warcry. Awfully, sickeningly wrong. Chuckling at a massacre. Slaughterhouse giggling.

So into it, instead of reading one of the many books I actually have to read, I'm going to have to go get the next two in this series... good-bye once again spending money. _________________ More agonised than any scream, more furious than any warcry.
