| I was just thinking about the so-called big four of thrash. But what would be the big four of doom metal? If there were to be a big four of doom metal tour, who would be on the bill? _________________ http://www.doommantia.com |

| Hmmm tough one.
1. Saint Vitus 2. Candlemass 3. Electric Wizard 4. Cathedral - playing all of the first album..
I don't know, 4 is not enough bands. _________________ I've got a 12 ton demon on my back Whispering shit in my brain

| Damn yeah, hard to choose just far. I can think of a lot of bands that WOULDN'T make the big 4 list but trying to pick the true big 4 is a mindfuck. I will have to think about this but Saint Vitus would be one for sure. |

| I think you would have to subdivide doom metal into smaller groups before it is possible to make any kind of list. For example, thrash is a subgenre of metal so here it is easier to think of bands that created and perfected the genre. |

| Yeah I think if there were to be a big four of doom tour and it was to be a success, you would have to have four diverse doom acts. One death-doom band, a stonerish doom band, maybe a more droning one and something else. But if it is going to the four most influential doom acts of all time on the same bill, then perhaps you would start with Vitus and Candlemass but for the other 2, I can't decide. |

| The main problem with the doom scene is that we have many Doom metal subgenres and that is why it is hard to decide. I tried to include the most influential and big bands in this so-called "The big four of Doom" ( oh yes, Sabbath a are not included here, even if they are the biggest and the most influential doom band of all time). I am not sure about the order though.
1. Candlemass 2. Paradise Lost 3. Melvins ( I know that most of the people here don't like them, but they are very influential, if not the fathers of Sludge and Drone doom). And I consider them as a part of the Doom metal scene. Don't kill me for this choice . 4. Saint Vitus

| 1. Saint Vitus 2. Candlemass 3. Electric Wizard 4. The fourth band I can't decide on but it would most likely have to be My Dying Bride or a Paradise Lost. I hate saying that because I don't like those bands much at all but they are a huge influence. I guess I could always go to the bar while they were playing. _________________ [sample: "You're all the same, the lot of you, with your long hair and][faggot clothes. I would do the same. Their is always a weak-link to those type of events anyway. The big tour - I don't like Anthrax at all and at the metal masters show, I was bored to tears by Testament. There will always be one band that doesn't work for me at those kind of shows. I would include Vitus, Candlemass, Wizard but I also can't choose a fourth one. I want to say Cathedral but I don't know if their influence is strong enough to be included._________________ http://www.doommantia.com |

| By big 4, do you mean the 4 most influencial or the 4 most popular? Because the big 4 of thrash are definately the most popular, not really the most influencial. _________________ More agonised than any scream, more furious than any warcry. | The ones that immediately popped into my head:
1. Black Sabbath 2. Pentagram 3. Saint Vitus 4. Electric Wizard
But yeah, it depends on the criteria. My personal big four might be a bit different from the most influential or most popular. Probably not too far off, though. |

I was thinking most popular, who would draw the biggest crowd etc. So not necessarily the best four bands but the four, most likely to attract the doomed masses._________________ http://www.doommantia.com |

| easy!
Black Sabbath (original lineup) Candlemass (original lineup or each vocalist for his stuff, or they'll figure out something!!!) Saint Vitus Pentagram
That live would gather a big crowd. The order is based in ticket sales on my country only not the actual contribution... |
